For Others Forever Exceeds $30 Million; Plans in Process for Start of Phase 1

The Prep’s fundraising campaign, For Others Forever, has exceeded $30 million, on its way to the goal of $35 million. This campaign is two-fold: to increase the school’s endowment and also to improve the physical facility of the 52-year old Villiger Hall.

In the past two and a half years, the St. Joseph’s Prep Community has donated $16.9 million to the endowment while also raising $13.1 million to the capital project. This raises the Prep’s   endowment to $32 million, an incredible 108% increase since 2016, while also raising the funds necessary to begin the physical transformation.

“Since the start of the campaign, alumni, parents and friends of the Prep have responded generously to the needs of the Prep by supporting these important campaign priorities,” says Betsy Courtney P ’08 ’10, VP for Institutional Advancement. “This campaign is really about ensuring the school’s future, both immediate and long term.”

The hope is that this funding will allow the school to begin phase one, which will create a learning commons and counseling resource center in the current library space, transform the theatre for the renowned Cape and Sword Drama Society and other campus events, enhance the safety of the community by moving the Security Team into a better access space, and also reimagining the foyer. In addition, a Hall of Excellence will be created to celebrate the alumni who have made an impact on the history of St. Joseph’s Prep.
