Earth Day
Earth Day Town Hall on Sustainability

The Prep held a public forum on sustainability to commemorate Earth Day. Over 60 students participated due to their ongoing involvement in ecologically-centered initiatives at our school. The goal was to craft tangible/concrete and achievable action items for our school community. Along with small group collaboration, we welcomed Cristina Schulingkamp, Senior Environmental Engineer for the Regional office of the EPA, and Nicholas Napolitano, Justice and Ecology specialist for the Jesuit East Province. Fr. John Abubakar, OSA, Chief Sustainability Officer at Villanova University, was also in attendance to give out certificates to students who participated in the sustainability implementation workshop at the university in December.
That week, our community also celebrated Mass in honor of Mother Mary and Mother Earth. After Mass, students spread seeds in the lawn.
